Requirements

Bilingual in English and French
4+ years underwriting in financial services, high-growth payments, or fintech
Highly analytical, collaborative, and independent problem-solver
Strong organization, time management and communication skills
Knowledge of financial risk assessment principles and the Canadian compliance, lending, and regulatory landscape
Possesses expertise in both quantitative and qualitative analysis
Demonstrated experience in bank-based and financial underwriting
Self-motivated, organized, and reliable, with proven expertise in mathematics and financial spreading

Responsibilities

Communicate application status and request additional documentation when needed
Make timely and accurate credit decisions based on policy guidelines
Validate documents authenticity and identify suspicious behavior and or trends
Create underwriting policies and procedures
Perform financial analysis and compile underwriting memos
Set customer expectations and answer questions during the onboarding process
Closely collaborate with Sales, product and operations to deliver a world-class customer experience
