Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Statistics, Economics, Research, Marketing or related field. Master’s Degree a plus
  • 1-3 years of professional experience in Consumer Insights or Market Research with hands-on experience in quantitative and qualitative research
  • Brand or Marketing or Sales, and/or Marketing Strategy experience a plus
  • Proactive with strong interpersonal skills and experience working in a complex, matrixed organization
  • Thrives in agile environment, willing to learn and leverage/create new solutions to answer business questions
  • Experience with panel or syndicated data preferred but not required
  • Detail-oriented and a creative problem solver
  • Experience in primary and secondary research
  • Strong data analysis skills, ability to derive data-based recommendations
  • Ability to “connect the dots” and drive toward bigger-picture insights
  • Ability to show complex information in a simple, visual way that drives understanding
  • Synthesize a large amount of data and craft a clear, concise "story" to sell business solutions
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills in front of internal and external audience
  • Comfortable with Shopper Insights, Market Share/sales data, and marketing strategy
  • Enthusiastic, out-of-the-box thinker who can synthesize many sources and types of data and insights to create clear recommendations
  • Based near Towson, MD or Valley City, OH (remote)

Responsibilities

  • Drive Channel & Customer business growth through shopper insights
  • Acquire and synthesize insights from different sources of data (e.g. sales data, shopper panels, primary research, ethnographic research, shop-alongs)
  • Create data-based recommendations for driving business across brands and channels
  • Influence point-of-sale optimization strategies and shopper experiences
  • Gather insights on shopping behaviors including points of value and pain points to positively influence in-store and online shopping experiences
  • Work with internal stakeholders to identify sales communication strategies in-store and online
  • Assess market, Professional Contractor, and retailer trends to support Marketing & Commercial strategies
  • Utilize primary & secondary research to understand current or upcoming trends and provide recommendations for growth
  • Monitor market and E-commerce trends and competitive dynamics
  • Acquire, interpret, and socialize market share data and insights
