Requirements

  • Juris Doctorate degree with an active membership in at least one state bar; North Carolina Bar preferred
  • 6+ years of relevant legal experience, with a strong focus on drafting, reviewing, and negotiating a high volume of complex contracts, particularly in an enterprise setting
  • Must be a hands-on doer with a strong work ethic and the ability to dive into the details on a daily basis
  • Must be a self-starter who thrives in a dynamic environment
  • Proven experience in the healthcare sector is desirable but not required
  • Deep knowledge of contract law
  • Corporate law/Securities knowledge is a plus but not required
  • Excellent professional ethics and integrity
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills, with a demonstrable track record of producing high-quality work
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously with strong organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail
  • Experience in a startup

Responsibilities

  • Lead all aspects of enterprise contract management, from initial drafting to final negotiation and interpretation, including a wide range of agreements such as AI, service, software, manufacturing, design, and technology licenses
  • Act as a trusted advisor to internal stakeholders, collaborating closely with various departments, particularly Sales, to develop effective legal strategies that support business goals
  • Conduct thorough risk analysis for business decisions and operations, providing clear, actionable counsel to mitigate potential legal and business risks
  • Investigate and address potential data, privacy, and intellectual property matters
  • Monitor legal and regulatory changes that could impact the business environment, proactively adapting strategies to remain compliant
  • Manage and execute key legal projects with various departments, working collaboratively to achieve business objectives
