Requirements

Bachelor's Degree or typically minimum 4 years relevant experience
4-6 years of enterprise networking experience and/or a Bachelor's Degree
Appropriate advanced industry network certifications (preferred)
Full understanding of area of specialization as a seasoned, experienced professional
Ability to resolve a wide range of issues in creative ways
Ability to work on problems of diverse scope requiring evaluation of identifiable factors
Good judgment in selecting methods and techniques for solutions
Networking with senior internal and external personnel in area of expertise

Responsibilities

Install, configure, maintain, support, and secure the organization's network communications, including LANs and/or WANs
Identify network problems, isolate root causes, and initiate corrective action
Determine priority of action and additional resources required based on severity of service interruption
Provide technical analysis to customers to isolate issues and develop strategies to restore or activate services
Interact with Telecommunication Engineers, LAN Administrators, and transmission and RF staff regarding ongoing network activities
Ascertain compliance with security, safety, and environmental guidelines
Generate reports on network performance, trouble-shooting results, and routine maintenance of network elements
Work within the demands of a global 24x7 high availability transaction-oriented network
Translate business requirements into network requirements and collaboratively work with other technical teams to deliver solutions
Participate in collaboration in a team environment
Provide network problem-solving solutions within the Global Payments network
Recognize and resolve advanced problems and issues according to corporate policies/procedures
Participate in advanced network project tasks with internal and external clients
Provide mentorship to entry/lower level team members
Assist with the design, configuration, testing, documentation, and implementation of advanced network designs and components
Configure industry standard dynamic routing protocols including but not limited to BGP and OSPF
Perform WAN optimization and QoS on global MPLS network carrying voice and data
Manage global DNS load balancing and local application load balancing
