Requirements

Candidates must possess a J.D. from an accredited law school and active membership in good standing with at least one U.S. state bar, and must be eligible to practice law in California. They should also have 8+ years of legal experience focused primarily on employment counseling and litigation, including a combination of law firm and in-house experience. Strong knowledge of employment law, particularly in fast-paced, highly regulated environments, is essential, along with experience in areas such as hiring practices, workplace conduct, accommodations, wage and hour compliance, and M&A-related employment issues.

Responsibilities

This Associate General Counsel will serve as the primary legal advisor on all human resources and employment-related matters across the company’s business operations, counseling senior management and team leaders on a broad range of issues. They will manage all aspects of employment litigation, arbitration, and internal investigations, respond to legal correspondence, represent the company before government agencies, and develop and implement company-wide policies to ensure compliance. Additionally, the role involves monitoring legislative developments, facilitating responses to regulatory inquiries, leading external counsel, and providing general legal support while collaborating cross-functionally with HR and other departments.
