Requirements

  • In-depth background in Investment Operations processes
  • High level of knowledge of the specific unit assigned (e.g., Investment Operations, Performance & Risk Analytics, Compliance)
  • Ability to train and coordinate work on the team
  • Capability to provide direct assistance to the Manager, including troubleshooting, ad hoc projects, and review of team work
  • Potential to assume temporary responsibility for unit operations during Management’s absence

Responsibilities

  • Coordinates, troubleshoots, and reviews work of the team, including setting priorities, ensuring accuracy and control standards, resolving problems, providing recommendations for procedural changes, and assisting on complex issues
  • Carries out daily work within Investment Finance units: determines and completes critical priorities, identifies/analyzes issues, implements solutions, acts as first point of escalation, and ensures team completion
  • Verifies information and upholds controls: checks/reconciles data, applies controls, follows up on discrepancies, and reviews others' work
  • Produces reports: generates standard reports and designs/delivers non-standard reports based on requests
  • Acts as lead on department projects under Financial Analyst guidance: plans projects, coordinates team, liaises with IT, and documents processes
  • Identifies and implements efficiency improvements for the unit
  • Assists Financial Analyst in researching, identifying, and documenting new products/programs/processes, including procedural changes, recommendations, test plans, and documentation
  • Services internal clients: builds relationships, provides information/services, responds to inquiries professionally and timely
  • Deals with internal and external suppliers: manages relationships for high-quality service, exchanges information, represents OTPP professionally (e.g., custodians, counterparties, systems providers)
  • Other duties: coordinates/reviews team training, investigates/tests systems/products, analyzes/implements new processes/systems, maximizes technology use, provides constructive ideas, documents complex aspects, maintains operational knowledge, represents OTPP professionally, trains team members, backs up Financial Analysts
