Requirements

Ability to perform essential duties satisfactorily, including skill set, attitude, and attendance (for internal candidates)
Moderate lifting up to 35 lbs
Repetitive use of hands and wrists
Moderate to high degree of standing, walking, stooping, or kneeling, close eye work, reaching, pulling, or pushing
Ability to wear personal protective equipment
Ability to operate and multi-task between 2 to 3 stations
Use manual and battery-powered tools (e.g., crimps, stakes, screws, bolts, rivets, welds, solders, cements, press fits) according to work instructions
Knowledge, understanding, and compliance with BorgWarner safety policies and procedures

Responsibilities

Assist the department Team Leader with team functions relative to safety, quality, cost, delivery, and teamwork
Act as Team Leader when the Team Leader is not present and support department absenteeism
Daily monitoring of safety compliance and performance to KPIs
Delegation of work assignments and coordination of department priorities
Inventory management to assist with on-time delivery and communicate deviations
Training and support of team members, including mentoring good manufacturing practices and 5S standards
Escalation of performance concerns, workplace issues, harassment, discrimination, or violence to HR and Area Leader
Consistent delivery and application of BorgWarner policies, procedures, practices, and beliefs (Inclusion, Integrity, Excellence, Responsibility, Collaboration)
Conduct team huddles to communicate safety talks and pertinent information
Ensure team compliance to safety, environmental rules, and ISO45001/ISO9001/TS16949 guidelines
Communicate business-related information to management in a timely, detailed, and accurate manner
Maintain strict confidentiality of sensitive information
Professionally communicate with team members, customers, support groups, and management
Serve as process subject matter expert, identify normal vs. abnormal conditions, and take immediate action
Lead problem-solving activities and assist operators/maintenance in troubleshooting
Assist Quality Technician with quality and documentation requirements
Assist with training and development of operators, ensuring proper metrics and documentation
Maintain compliance with records retention standards (scrap reporting, downtime tracking, set-up sheets)
Ensure timely and accurate production reporting
Perform other duties as assigned (overtime may be required)
