Requirements

  • Open availability, including weekends required
  • Understand the mechanics of the Annual Operating Plan (AOP) and how operations translate into monthly Profit and Loss (P&L)
  • Ability to recruit, interview, hire, orient, and train employees
  • Knowledge of personnel policies, procedures, progressive discipline, and termination processes
  • Familiarity with loss prevention procedures, shrink control, and front-end operations
  • Ability to analyze monthly store reports, evaluate controllable expenses, and address variances to company standards

Responsibilities

  • Contribute to overall financial performance including product merchandising/stocking, expense control, sales, and profitability goals
  • Manage front-end operations to ensure accurate recording of purchases and well-trained employees in shrink control and customer service
  • Work closely with Store Manager to execute Annual Operating Plan (AOP) and deliver sales/profit results; assist in AOP budgeting
  • Supervise and coach employees in providing efficient and friendly service at registers and throughout the store
  • Address personnel and performance issues, including coaching, verbal/written warnings; consult with Store Manager and HR on discipline/termination
  • Ensure compliance with personnel policies, procedures, company policies, store SOPs, and maintain a safe store environment
  • Participate in annual inventory process including preparation and execution
  • Train front-end and other employees on required programs
  • Provide day-to-day direction to floor employees including schedules, goals, sales/shrinkage targets, and perform Manager-on-duty functions
  • Plan in-store demonstrations including preparation, set-up, sample distribution, and suggestive selling
  • Assist in overseeing product receiving, returns of damaged/expired product, and timely restocking of shelves
  • Maintain merchandising programs such as promotional ends, signage, and company/market-specific programs; communicate with employees on execution and reporting
  • Analyze monthly store reports to evaluate expenses and performance; address variances with action plans partnering with Store Manager
  • Ensure proper employee scheduling to meet business objectives and understanding of emergency procedures
  • Accept special assignments as directed by Store Manager
  • Adhere to, communicate, support, and enforce all company policies, processes, and procedures
  • Supervise Sales Associates and Sales Department Lead(s)
