Requirements
Bachelor’s degree (preferably an Engineering degree)
2 years of manufacturing operational experience
2 years of experience as a supervisor
Ability to work 100% on-site (Day Shift: 6am-6pm, on call 24/7 with flexibility for off-shifts and weekends)
Physical ability to stand, walk, use hands/fingers, reach, talk/hear frequently; occasionally sit, climb/balance, stoop/kneel/crouch/crawl; lift up to 50 pounds; push/pull heavy objects
Specific vision abilities: close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, ability to adjust focus
Responsibilities
Champion department daily plan and follow through on open items; participate in Daily Direction Setting (DDS) meetings
Accountable for daily operations and team performance in Safety, Quality, Reliability, Cost, and Organizational Capability
Role model Basic Beliefs, Commitment to Each Other, and Emotional Intelligence
Work with operating teams to address safety concerns and assist in resolution
Drive department issues to root cause and develop a zero-loss and continuous improvement culture
Manage performance, staffing strategy, and develop a “flow to the work” culture
Partner with Manager in developing and delivering Department Master Plan
Ensure essential business information and expectations are clearly communicated to the team
Develop and coach operational and leadership skills of Team Leaders and Technicians using Smucker Quality Management Systems (SQMS) and High-Performance Organization (HPO) tools
Assist in developing and executing key technical and organizational projects while increasing SQMS capability
