Candidates should possess 5+ years of experience in accounting and 2+ years of management experience, along with a CPA or similar certification as a plus, particularly in Canada. They should have familiarity with accounting tools such as QBO, Brex, Plooto, Intacct, and Netsuite, and experience in multi-entity, multi-currency environments. Experience in audit and tax engagements is also required.
The Assistant Controller will oversee the preparation of accurate and timely financial statements in accordance with US GAAP, manage month-end reporting requirements, review and approve payroll, provide variance analysis, serve as the go-to contact for corporate tax and audit engagements ensuring compliance, work closely with the Director of Finance on global expansion and operational initiatives, redesign and oversee accounts receivable, accounts payable, and treasury processes for automated streamlined workflows, implement and maintain internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure accuracy in reporting, and develop a team with a culture of high performance.
