Candidates must possess a BS, MS, or PhD in Computer Science, Machine Learning, Data Science, Statistics, or Mathematics, along with relevant industry experience. Proficiency in Python, Deep Learning Frameworks like PyTorch or Tensorflow, and basic SQL skills are required. Experience with predictive modeling and analysis for real-world problems is also necessary. Bonus points include an MS/PhD in relevant fields, experience deploying models to production, 1+ years in recommendations or search, publications in top ML conferences, and familiarity with Twitch.
The Applied Scientist will develop ML algorithms for recommendations, ranking, and search to enhance discovery on Twitch. They will collaborate with senior scientists and engineers to deploy ML code into production. Additionally, they will partner with Product and Engineering teams to address customer discovery challenges and determine impactful ML solutions. Participation in the scientific community within Twitch, Amazon, and the broader ML risk community is expected.
