The Rail Operations Analyst serves as the primary contact for rail carriers, customer service, and plant operations, ensuring seamless communication. They provide support to commercial and operations teams by communicating rail service issues, delivering account reporting, and engaging in problem-solving. The role involves developing and implementing alternative rail logistics strategies, overseeing the management of hazardous and non-hazardous rail shipments within a 15,000-car fleet, and identifying at-risk shipments to formulate recovery strategies. Responsibilities also include collaborating with plant operations and S&OP to address planning challenges, monitoring and rectifying railcar EDI billing discrepancies, maintaining the integrity of RailTrac data, and assisting with the financial management of rail-related invoices. The analyst must uphold SOX compliance and support continuous improvement and operational excellence.
