Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance (preferred); Master’s degree in Accounting or Finance (a plus)
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Certified Internal Auditor (CIA) (a plus)
  • Experience in financial services (preferred)
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Highly flexible and adaptable to change
  • In-depth functional/industry knowledge
  • Technical skills/systems knowledge (e.g., Peoplesoft) (preferred)
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment as part of a global team across multiple time zones and jurisdictions
  • Responsible for staying current on SOX/SOC/CCAR regulations and industry changes

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate risk and likely sources of potential misstatement for significant processes
  • Maintain relationships with control owners to provide guidance and training regarding CCAR program and requirements
  • Assist in developing regular presentations to Management and Audit Committee on relevant topics
  • Communicate with partners at all levels, developing and presenting recommendations on operations and controls for the business unit
  • Partner and communicate with teams across business to move key initiatives forward
  • Carry out complex activities with significant financial, client, and/or internal business impact
  • Serve as a key subject matter expert and manage daily operational activities
  • Work to meet deadlines and deliver work product that requires less revision
  • Facilitate discussions independently and reach decisions
  • Utilize understanding of various Corporate units to ensure operations, services, and systems have proper controls in place
  • Apply analytical skills to review information and determine potential control weaknesses
  • Develop a thorough understanding of the Northern Trust Methodology and adhere to all applicable Department Standards
