ParetoHealth - AI Product Manager

Position Overview

ParetoHealth is seeking a strategic and entrepreneurial AI Product Manager to spearhead the company's AI vision. This role is crucial for identifying, prioritizing, and delivering AI-powered capabilities, initially focusing on Underwriting and then expanding across the business. You will act as a key liaison between data, engineering, and operations teams, ensuring the AI roadmap is both technically robust and aligned with business objectives. Your work will transform ideas into tangible impacts, from enhancing risk selection and process automation to improving customer experiences.

Key Responsibilities

1. Shape the AI Strategy in Underwriting

  • Define and validate AI use cases to improve group risk selection and pricing.
  • Empower Underwriters with data-driven decision-making tools.
  • Evaluate feasibility, make build vs. buy decisions, and prioritize opportunities based on value.
  • Collaborate with actuarial, underwriting, and data teams to scope opportunities end-to-end.
  • Coordinate with all necessary teams for project rollout.

2. Build and Lead the Execution Engine

  • Establish and lead a lean AI product team (internal or vendor-based) to execute the roadmap.
  • Own the backlog, sprint planning, and delivery timelines for AI projects.
  • Implement controls, evaluation methods, and policies to ensure compliance, accuracy, and business quality standards.

3. Scale AI Literacy and Use Cases Across the Organization

  • Serve as the company's internal AI evangelist and subject matter expert.
  • Partner with stakeholders across Product, Operations, and Cost Containment to identify and develop new AI opportunities (e.g., automation, document ingestion, intelligent workflows).
  • Promote a practical approach to innovation, making AI accessible and accountable to business users.

Who You Are

  • Product-driven: Proven experience leading AI/ML-enabled products from conception through launch and iteration.
  • Technically conversant: Comfortable discussing LLMs, predictive modeling, NLP, and vector databases, even without hands-on coding.
  • Business-minded: Focused on how AI drives business value and skilled in measuring its impact.
  • Communicative & collaborative: Ability to articulate complex ideas clearly and build trust across technical and non-technical teams.
  • Curious & self-starting: Proactive in defining roadmaps and driving initiatives.

What You Bring

  • 5+ years of product management experience.
  • At least 2 years of experience delivering AI/ML-powered tools.
