Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree or Military Experience
  • At least 2 years of experience in credit underwriting, portfolio management, or asset management
  • Preferred: At least 3 years of commercial real estate experience, specifically in Freddie Mac and Fannie Mae
  • Preferred: At least 3 years of experience in Agency Lending Underwriting

Responsibilities

  • Navigates deals through underwriting process with minimal oversight
  • Correctly identifies all waivers/risks associated with the transactions and provides mitigated recommendation to discuss with their manager
  • Presents ideas for policy and process improvements to their manager
  • Shows ability to oversee, train and increase their own efficiency through the use of Analysts/Senior Analysts
  • Reviews work of analyst/senior analysts assisting on deals and pre-screens
  • Higher level external exposure to borrowers and lender counsel
  • Underwrites complex transactions with complicated borrower structures and unique property/market characteristics
  • Presents fully completed and analyzed narratives with supporting risk mitigation to their manager
  • Works on special projects as deemed appropriate by their manager
  • Participates in structuring deals with manager and production to broaden product knowledge
  • Develops and fosters relationships with agency counterparts
  • Interprets Fannie Mae/Freddie Mac product sheets and underwrites all transaction types, including fixed, floating, supplemental, MHCs, etc
