Requirements

  • Associate’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, Mechatronics Engineering, or related field. Bachelor’s or Master’s degree is preferred
  • 3+ years of relevant experience in manufacturing engineering or process design, with exposure to CAD, simulation, or digital twin technologies. Relevant internships, academic projects, or early professional experience are highly valued
  • Familiarity with 3D CAD tools (e.g., SolidWorks, Siemens NX) and simulation software (e.g., Tecnomatix, AnyLogic, Simulink)
  • Experience collaborating with external vendors or integrating third-party digital twin solutions
  • Experience in automation, robotics, smart factory systems, and data architectures (IoT, closed-loop controls)
  • Visionary thinking: Ability to conceptualize and architect future-state digital manufacturing systems
  • Technical curiosity: Eager to learn and experiment with new modeling and simulation technologies

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a key contributor to the Next Generation Line (NGL) and Future Factory initiatives
  • Build and scale digital twin and simulation capabilities for advanced manufacturing
  • Collaborate closely with internal engineering, IT, and external digital twin vendors
  • Support equipment development, virtual commissioning, and process optimization
  • Develop, implement, and maintain digital twin models and 3D CAD simulation environments for new and existing manufacturing equipment and lines, supporting NGL and Future Factory strategies
  • Collaborate with equipment development partners, digital twin vendors, internal engineering, and IT/OT teams to ensure seamless data exchange, model integration, and compliance with Clarios’ Unified Namespace, enterprise data standards, and cybersecurity requirements
  • Define and document simulation requirements and deliverables in Supplier Statements of Work (SSOWs) and RFPs
  • Support virtual commissioning, emulation, predictive maintenance, and optimization of manufacturing systems using digital twin platforms, including extensibility for XR (AR/VR) training
  • Analyze simulation results and proactively identify opportunities for process improvement, leveraging data analytics and AI/ML models for complex simulations
  • Ensure digital twin models include all required functional components, actuators, sensors, and closed-loop controls, and are designed for global scalability and adaptability across Clarios facilities
  • Document changes to models and environments for traceability and compliance with IP protection frameworks and data security requirements
  • Lead the adoption of digital twin and simulation best practices, share knowledge, mentor peers, and help build a community of practice
  • Stay current with emerging technologies in CAD, simulation, and digital twins, and recommend innovative solutions
  • Communicate progress, challenges, and opportunities effectively to stakeholders at all levels
