Requirements

  • Subject matter expert for AR, claims and billing transactions
  • Ability to analyze, monitor, and improve AR metrics and trends such as AR Aging, DSO (Days Sales Outstanding) & DDO (Days Deductions Outstanding), credit balances and bad debt expense
  • Experience contributing information to strategic plans and reviews to meet AR operational standards
  • Skill in reviewing and approving new customer setups, ensuring required documentation and assigning appropriate credit limits/terms based on risk
  • Proficiency in communicating with internal/external customers on credit/collection issues
  • Capability to negotiate payment plans and assist with delinquent accounts on credit hold
  • Expertise in managing customer deductions process and ensuring timely claims processing
  • Experience leading meetings with senior leadership on past due invoices, collections, risk and deductions
  • Ability to generate/track monthly AFDA write-off transactions and recommend reserves
  • Oversight of cash activity, month-end closing, AR reconciliation, open invoice listings, AR general ledgers and unapplied cash reporting
  • Skill in overseeing deduction application, dispute resolution, and timely execution for financial close
  • Ability to maintain relationships with sales team for deduction validation and approvals
  • Coaching, mentoring and developing AR and Deduction teams for productivity and performance
  • Participation in continuous improvement initiatives
  • Monitoring compliance with accounting policies, internal controls, and supporting audits
  • Acting as departmental liaison for special projects
  • Developing/maintaining user documentation for D365 and standard processes
  • Conducting performance appraisals

Responsibilities

  • Simplify, standardize, and automate accounts receivable (AR), deductions and claims functions
  • Manage credit evaluation, customer collections and customer deductions
  • Collaborate with Accounting, Finance, Sales, Supply Chain teams, and retail partners to improve AR, trade ROI, provide spend reporting and reduce non-trade charges
  • Analyze, monitor, and improve AR metrics/trends through communication with Customer Advocacy, Operations, Sales, Business Intelligence and Accounting
  • Review and approve new customer setups, ensuring documentation and appropriate credit limits/terms
  • Communicate with internal/external customers on escalated credit/collection issues
  • Negotiate payment plans and assist AR team with delinquent accounts
  • Manage customer deductions process for timely claims processing
  • Lead periodic meetings with senior leadership on past due invoices, collections, risk and deductions
  • Generate and track monthly AFDA write-offs and recommend extra reserves
  • Oversee cash activity, month-end closing and AR reconciliation functions
