Position Overview

Workday is seeking an experienced Account Executive to join our Field Sales organization. This role is crucial for expanding Workday's presence within our existing customer base by driving incremental add-on business and renewals. You will leverage your extensive experience and consultative selling skills to initiate and support the sales of Workday Solutions, focusing on delivering long-lasting value and ensuring customer satisfaction.

About the Role

As an Account Executive, you will be a key player in our Field Sales organization, specifically within the Customer Base sales team. Your primary responsibilities will include:

  • Relationship Management: Developing and maintaining strong relationships with existing customers, with a focus on upselling through effective deal management.
  • Account Planning: Performing strategic account planning for your assigned accounts, ensuring alignment with pre-sales and other internal resources.
  • Sales Execution: Driving strategic add-on and renewal business of Workday solutions within Major Account customers.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Coordinating effectively with internal Workday teams, including pre-sales, digital, value & bid management, marketing, technical support, and sales support.

Requirements

Basic Qualifications

  • Approximately 12+ years of experience selling SaaS/Cloud-based ERP, HCM, Financial, Planning, or Analytics solutions to C-level executives from a field sales position.
  • Proven experience collaborating with internal teams (pre-sales, value, inside sales) to achieve sales quotas and manage multiple deals simultaneously.
  • Demonstrated experience managing sales cycles of 18+ months end-to-end, including nurturing customer relationships throughout the process.
  • Experience building relationships at the executive level within both existing and new business units, effectively communicating Workday's value propositions.

Other Qualifications

  • A strong understanding of the strategic competitive landscape, staying current with industry trends and customer needs to effectively position Workday solutions within accounts.
