Requirements

Knowledge of industrial maintenance to repair, modify, or make new parts for mechanical equipment, including visual and audible analysis and ability to distinguish color-coded wiring
Ability to perform skilled mechanical/electrical work to troubleshoot, diagnose, maintain, repair, modify, and install machinery, equipment, physical structures, pipe, and electrical systems following specifications, blueprints, manuals, and schematic drawings
Capability to use periods of concentration to manually set up and use 250 amp electrical welding device in a laundry plant environment with exposure to lint, high temperatures, and cold weather
Ability to perform plumbing, carpentry, welding, or electrical tasks as applicable
Skill in dismantling defective machines and equipment, replacing defective parts and motors, and adjusting feed mechanisms
Proficiency in operating machinery and equipment to test, visually inspect, and listen for malfunctions to determine cause and extent of failures
Competence in accurately completing morning startup procedures, maintaining logs, and work orders
Ability to clean and lubricate shafts, bearings, gears, and other machinery parts using appropriate tools
Expertise in installing, aligning, tensioning, and maintaining chain and sprocket drives, gear drives, belt drives, flexible couplings, pillow block bearings, shaft assemblies, brake assemblies, and pulleys
Ability to troubleshoot, operate, maintain, and/or repair electrical and wiring systems, including programming or repairing automated machinery and electronic components

Responsibilities

Perform all repairs, adjustments, overhauls, or preventive maintenance tasks on laundry or boiler room equipment
Troubleshoot mechanical and electronic problems quickly and accurately with a sense of urgency
Repair, modify, or make new parts for mechanical equipment using industrial maintenance knowledge
Perform skilled mechanical/electrical work to troubleshoot, diagnose, maintain, repair, modify, and install machinery, equipment, physical structures, pipe, and electrical systems in an automated commercial laundry facility
Dismantle defective machines and equipment, replace defective parts and motors, and adjust feed mechanisms
Operate machinery and equipment to determine the cause and extent of component or system failure through testing, visual inspection, and listening for unusual sounds
Accurately and completely perform morning startup procedures for the plant and maintain proper logs and work orders
Clean and lubricate shafts, bearings, gears, and other parts of machinery using rags, brushes, grease guns, or other tools
Install, align, tension, and maintain chain and sprocket drives, gear drives, belt drives, flexible couplings, pillow block bearings, shaft assemblies, brake assemblies, and pulleys
Troubleshoot, operate, maintain, and/or repair electrical and wiring systems, including programming or repairing automated machinery and electronic components
