Requirements

  • 5 years of related experience
  • Proficiency with inspection tools (Micrometer, Caliper, Drop gages, etc.)
  • Preferred experience with Waterbury, Reed, Hartford, Automatic, Handfeed thread roll machines
  • Blueprint reading
  • Ability to lift approximately 50 lbs
  • Ability to stand for the entire shift
  • Ability to work in an un-air-conditioned shop environment
  • Ability to bend, twist, and squat in awkward positions for prolonged periods
  • Ability to exert force (pushing or pulling) on hand tools used to adjust machines
  • Manual dexterity and visual acuity for detailed work

Responsibilities

  • Set, operate, and troubleshoot thread roll machines as required
  • Efficiently produce quality products meeting expectations using manufacturing drawings, process control documents, training materials, and departmental work instructions
  • Utilize internal measuring devices such as micrometers, calipers, gages, etc
  • Maintain the entire workplace in a safe, clean operating condition daily
  • Communicate pertinent and/or necessary information to fellow employees
  • Gather materials for production (part drawings, tool drawings, production schedules, production requirements, production reports, etc.)
  • Report set-up and production in the K-Lite production tracking system
  • Detect and report faulty machine/equipment conditions, material anomalies, part/tool drawing discrepancies, or other unusual shop floor activities
  • Keep machines in best operating condition, including replacing worn fasteners, machine parts, or tooling
  • Participate in trainings and/or train others as required
  • May conduct training with new department employees
