Workday Financials Principal Consultant

Position Overview
Cognizant is seeking a highly skilled Workday Financials Principal Consultant with extensive experience in Financial Management systems. In this role, you will be instrumental in guiding clients through the transformation, implementation, and operational phases of Workday projects. A strong technical aptitude is essential, enabling you to configure the Workday product to align with business requirements and design specifications.
Key Responsibilities
- Become a Workday Financials expert, demonstrating deep knowledge of design, configuration, testing, and implementation.
- Leverage your expertise to recommend optimal solutions based on client requirements, budget, and timeframe, with the flexibility to adapt scope as new needs arise.
- Guide clients through facilitated design sessions and configuration decisions, applying best practices and understanding unique business requirements at all project stages.
- Actively engage and support clients throughout all project phases, ensuring a seamless transition from legacy systems to the Workday solution.
- Manage multiple tasks with limited direction, consistently updating the client, project team, and Engagement Manager on project changes and progress.
- Actively participate in update training and internal knowledge-sharing opportunities.
Skills & Requirements
- Education: Bachelor's degree or equivalent required.
- Workday Experience: 2+ years of Workday functional implementation experience required.
- Financial Software Experience: 2-5 years of Financial software experience required.
- ERP/SaaS Implementation: 2-5 years of implementing functional solutions with ERP or SaaS software required.
- Business Process Proficiency: Proficiency in business processes including: general ledger, budgeting, cash management, grant management, chart of accounts re-design, procure-to-pay, purchase order conversions, expense management, fixed asset management, and/or order-to-cash, required.
- Leadership Experience: Prior experience leading or managing teams required.
- Desired Skills:
- Report writing experience and/or Workday Financials certification highly desired.
- Thrives in a fast-paced environment with a commitment to detail.
- Passion for exceptional customer service and collaboration.
- Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to manage customer expectations effectively.
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint).
- Willingness to collaborate across teams to achieve goals.
- Travel: Minimal travel required, but willingness to travel on-site if needed.
Salary and Other Compensation

- Annual Salary: $106,171 - [Salary range not fully specified]
- Incentive Program: Eligible for Cognizant’s discretionary annual incentive program, based on performance.
