Requirements

Candidates must possess a high school diploma or GED, which they are required to obtain within the first six months of employment, and demonstrate mechanical aptitude and basic electrical knowledge, including the ability to work with electrical wires and differentiate between color-coded wires. A valid driver's license and good driving record are also required, along with the ability to climb towers unassisted up to 300 feet and work safely in a confined space and adverse climates.

Responsibilities

The Wind Technician will follow safety procedures, assist in wind turbine mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical component maintenance, document all work performed, assist in troubleshooting SCADA communication systems, operate and maintain a service vehicle, maintain hand tools, and work a flexible on-call schedule when needed. Level II and III technicians will troubleshoot complex mechanical and electrical problems, assist in training personnel, perform maintenance and repairs, read schematics, use electrical test equipment, lead maintenance crews, and perform balance of plant and switchyard work, as well as other duties assigned within their respective levels.
