Responsibilities

  • Lead with a safety mindset to ensure every associate remains injury free; champion safety procedures, processes, and training to create a safety-first culture
  • Oversee and develop warehouse associates through one-on-one coaching, training on policy and procedures, problem resolution, and leading by example; discuss performance with Sr. Warehouse Managers and create plans to address gaps
  • Create a cohesive organization by keeping lines of communication open and directing workforce to ensure efficient workflow
  • Direct and supervise the work and productivity of associates within the warehouse department; drive associate engagement and retention, embodying US Foods values
  • Participate in building high-performing teams by interviewing and hiring warehouse personnel with Sr. Warehouse Managers; review performance, coach on productivity and safety targets, and deliver disciplinary action
  • Lead and direct associates to achieve accurate orders that are staged and loaded on trucks; oversee preparation of the warehouse for shipping or receiving on the next shift
  • Monitor operational information such as mis-picks and productivity reports to ensure shift meets rates and follows preferred methods; take action through coaching and counseling
  • On day shift, designate dock locations for inbound carriers; ensure product is stocked in appropriate location per food safety and FIFO processes; monitor replenishment to minimize shorts; oversee will call
  • Maintain physical condition and safety of warehouse and equipment, including preparing work orders for repairs and requisitions for equipment
  • Work with operations management to identify inventory shrink sources, develop action plans, analyze operations, and recommend improvements for expense and cost control
  • Regularly inspect facility for safety hazards, resolve or report them, and maintain warehouse and equipment condition
  • Ensure Master Sanitation Schedule (MSS) and FSQA requirements are followed
  • Effectively schedule working shifts using planning tools like Microsoft Excel
  • Perform other duties as assigned by manager
  • Supervise union and/or non-union warehouse on-floor associates (Loaders, Selectors, Receivers, Forklift drivers, etc.)
