Position Overview

About the Role

This is a critical leadership position reporting directly to the Chief Product Officer (CPO). You will lead Confluent's Platform product management team, comprising approximately 20 professionals. Your mission is to maximize the impact of hundreds of platform engineers and drive hundreds of millions of dollars in revenue. Confluent Platform encompasses our self-managed Kafka, Governance, Connect, and Stream Processing offerings, which can operate independently or in conjunction with our Cloud offerings.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate closely with the CPO and other Product Line PM leaders to align strategic company goals with individual product goals and the product capabilities/architecture roadmap.
• Ideate, design, and deliver next-generation product capabilities that enhance customer scale, consistency, security, and usability.
• Evolve and revitalize our product management approach to foster maximum joint engagement with product teams, focusing on customer outcomes and shared success.
• Lead the evolution of our Confluent Platform offering from a primarily self-hosted, disconnected product to a coherent hybrid deployment model that seamlessly integrates with our cloud offerings.

Requirements

• A minimum of 10 years of product management experience, preferably in B2B and with developer-focused products.
• 10+ years of leadership experience.
• Proven experience leading platform teams to deliver a foundation that maximizes product velocity, reliability, and consistency.
• Experience leading product management teams responsible for multiple products each exceeding hundreds of millions of dollars in revenue.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field.
