Requirements

  • Live in or near Pittston, PA or willing to relocate to that area
  • Director of Operations, Director of Transportation, or VP level Operations experience
  • Strong people leader experience
  • Proven track record of success with Operations KPIs
  • Some P&L experience/exposure
  • 10 years operations experience, various job functions in distribution management
  • Minimum of 5 years of management experience
  • 4-year degree preferred (or High School Diploma/GED and equivalent experience)
  • Knowledge of D.O.T. regulations, Labor Relations, Selecting/interviewing/recruiting, Customer Service, budgeting and cost control, OSHA, HACCP and other regulations, PC skills

Responsibilities

  • Direct and oversee overall operations and site management of the Distribution Center (DC)
  • Negotiate and administer collective bargaining agreements (union facilities only)
  • Implement and ensure procedures are followed for safe, efficient, service-oriented, and profitable operations
  • Provide overall site management for standalone locations (at Area hub, more supply chain focused responsibilities); hard line reporting to RVP Operations and dotted line to Area President
  • Establish long-term operations objectives aligned with business goals
  • Develop and execute strategic plan for the operations department
  • Integrate activities of shipping, receiving, transportation, purchasing, and sales by discussing accountabilities and interdependence
  • Participate in establishing overall Distribution Center business goals
  • Plan, organize, direct, and control operations by integrating functions and processes with business goals
  • Maintain profitable operations by controlling inventory, losses, accidents, and safety; seek synergies and best practices to improve productivity or customer service
  • Guide operations management in compliance with government, regulatory agency guidelines, laws, and Company programs
  • Implement programs for overall safety, security, maintenance, and ergonomics
  • Delegate responsibility to managers to accomplish productivity goals
  • Enforce DC/company policies on safety and employee discipline; communicate changes; oversee work and performance of day warehouse associates
  • Create performance improvement plans, administer discipline, and identify training opportunities
  • Participate in Operations knowledge center, industry organizations, and networking to share best practices
  • Other duties assigned by manager
