Candidates must have over 10 years of experience in finance, business operations, and/or management consulting, preferably within venture-backed, high-growth companies. A minimum of 3 years of people management experience, leading cross-functional G&A or finance teams, is required. A strong FP&A foundation with proven ability in forecasting, budgeting, and financial storytelling is essential, along with demonstrated success in managing strategic vendor or partnership negotiations that impact cost structure or product capabilities. Exceptional organizational and project management skills, a strong sense of urgency, proactivity, independence, and comfort navigating complexity are also necessary. Experience managing growth-stage startup operations and vendor-enabled product development is expected. Experience in B2B fintech or finance-related industries and hands-on experience with HR operations and compliance management are considered a plus.
The VP of Operations and Finance will oversee Finance, Accounting, Talent, and HR, building the necessary systems, processes, and planning rhythms to support company growth. This role involves implementing FP&A best practices, owning forecasting and budgeting cycles, and developing the financial narrative for executives and investors. Key vendor relationships, including those with bureaus, banks, cloud vendors, and infrastructure providers, will be managed to improve margins and expand product capabilities. The VP will drive initiatives supporting company growth targets, partner with Product, Engineering, and Sales to optimize resource allocation, and remove operational barriers. They will also define and track key metrics to optimize operational efficiency, vendor performance, and cross-team execution, while also jumping into high-impact, cross-functional projects such as board preparation, audit oversight, and annual planning cycles.
