Requirements

  • 10+ years in software engineering, including 5+ years in senior engineering leadership roles
  • Experience building developer-facing products or security platforms strongly preferred
  • Proven ability to ship high-impact developer tools or infrastructure products used at scale
  • Strong familiarity with the modern AI stack, including LLMs, orchestration frameworks, and agentic workflows
  • Deep understanding of modern security practices, identity, secrets management, and access control
  • Strategic thinking: Ability to connect long-term vision to quarterly execution and balance product velocity with architectural soundness
  • Cross-functional leadership: History of partnering with product, marketing, and external stakeholders to drive adoption and platform integration

Responsibilities

  • Own the Developer + AI Portfolio: Lead strategy and execution across 1Password’s developer experience, AI for security, and security for AI initiatives
  • Build for AI-Native Systems: Define the technical vision for secure, agentic workflows, including identity, delegation, and secrets delivery, used by developers and AI agents alike
  • Drive Standards & Advocacy: Oversee Developer Evangelists and Standards Engineers, ensuring 1Password has a strong voice in the AI/security ecosystem and relevant working groups
  • Cross-Functional Leadership: Partner with Product, Marketing, Security, and Partnerships to deliver platform integrations and drive adoption across developer and AI communities
  • Grow a High-Impact Team: Recruit and lead a world-class engineering org that balances innovation, velocity, and long-term technical rigor
  • Architect the product and technical vision for how 1Password serves developers from local development and secrets management, to programmatic agent access, to secure runtime environments
  • Drive the company’s efforts to integrate AI responsibly and securely into our own products, and to provide the primitives that secure agentic systems in production
  • Lead a cross-disciplinary team of engineers, developer evangelists, and standards contributors, with tight alignment with product, marketing, partnerships, and GTM
