Candidates must possess a high school diploma or equivalent and hold a Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) certification. A minimum of 1-3 years of experience as a Medical Assistant is required, along with exceptional communication skills, a passion for patient experience, attention to detail, and the ability to learn quickly and adapt. Experience with virtual care is also preferred.
The Virtual Medical Assistant will prepare patients for physician visits by ensuring video and audio functionality, adding interpreters as needed, obtaining signed telehealth consent forms, and taking photos of insurance cards. They will also gather medical information over the phone, document medication lists and medical history, answer incoming calls, schedule follow-up appointments and labs, and conduct confirmation calls for upcoming appointments. Additional duties include performing chart checks, preparing charts prior to visits, and identifying opportunities for process improvement and enhanced patient experience.
