Requirements

BS in Mechanical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering Technology, master’s degree preferred
Proficient understanding of rotating mechanical systems
5+ years of experience in related field preferred
Do not require sponsorship for employment visa status to work in the United States now or in the future

Responsibilities

Perform measurement engineering duties on rotating machinery, typically powertrain related
Work in a research and development environment with mechanical and low voltage electrical equipment to provide valid measurements
Troubleshoot rotating mechanical systems and low voltage measurement systems
Work with signal conditioning and data acquisition equipment
Program engineering software (MATLAB®) to facilitate data reduction and analysis
Reduce and analyze timing drive systems, including rotational and linear vibrations in the frequency and time domain
Effectively communicate results and issues verbally and in written report form
Design and develop systems to measure specified quantities
Complete requested tests within a reasonable timetable
Coordinate test fixture design and execution of tests using a Designer and Technician(s)
Reduce and analyze acquired data
Communicate test results and issues accurately with supervisor, engineers, technicians, and test request originators
Enforce Global Star Safety Program, including safety rules, practices, and training as outlined in the BorgWarner Safety Policy
