Requirements

  • High school diploma, Associates degree or equivalent certifications in Refrigeration/Mechanical field preferred
  • IIAR Ammonia Refrigeration training preferred
  • RETA/CIRO/CARO – Operators License preferred
  • EPA TYPE Universal License preferred
  • Boiler Operator License preferred
  • 3+ years industrial ammonia refrigeration experience preferred
  • 1+ year of industrial maintenance/refrigeration experience required
  • Proficient experience with Microsoft based software, such as Excel, Word, Outlook, etc
  • Experience with SAP systems preferred
  • Ability to interpret schematics and blueprints during troubleshooting
  • Proficient in the use of hand and power tools
  • Ability to work in a team environment
  • Ability to self-motivate and work independently
  • Comfortable operating at high elevations
  • Ability to lift or move 75 pounds
  • Ability to withstand changing environments
  • Ability to operate an aerial lift and sit-down forklift
  • Basic computer skills required
  • Ability to work variable shifts, weekends, and/or holidays (1st shift 5:00AM – 5:00PM, rotating flex schedule)
  • Approximately one to two weeks travel per year for technical and safety training

Responsibilities

  • Perform and complete operations, preventative maintenance, and repairs of plant utility systems (Ammonia Refrigeration, Steam Boiler Systems, Process Hot Water Systems, Fire Protection, Compressed Air Systems)
  • Complete daily safety checks/rounds per the standard application
  • Read and understand equipment P&ID’s and applicable blueprints
  • Perform all duties in accordance with OSHA – IIAR 6 regulations
  • Timely repair of plant utility equipment/systems with precision maintenance techniques as necessary to meet production rates and maintenance downtime goals
  • Data entry daily into current CMMS system including preventative maintenance records, inspections, and stock replacement parts used
  • Responsible for maintaining a safe work environment, including all safety protocols and company policies
  • Perform other duties as assigned by supervision
  • Operation and maintenance of the ammonia refrigeration system, HVAC systems, hot water, compressed air, fire protection, and steam systems
  • Proficient and able to perform duties within the rules and regulations of OSHA’s Process Safety Management (PSM), EPA’s Risk Management Program (RMP), and IIAR regulations
  • Effectively work with members of management, operations/production personnel, as well as various contractors
  • Proficient in mechanical troubleshooting, electrical, and refrigeration fundamentals
  • Participate in training, and skill development in all areas of the utility department
  • Be self-motivated, multi-tasking, and able to work in a fast-paced changing environment
