Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Interaction Design, Human Factors, or related field (or combination of relevant training and/or experience in lieu of degree)
  • Typically minimum 2 years relevant experience assisting in researching and designing user experience solutions
  • Developing professional expertise, applies company policies and procedures to resolve a variety of issues
  • Works on problems of moderate scope requiring review of multiple factors; exercises judgment within defined procedures
  • Builds productive internal/external working relationships
  • Normally receives general instructions on routine work, detailed instructions on new projects
  • Proficiency with tools: Industry Research (OptimalSort, survey tools), Usability Testing (Morae, Camtasia, WebEx Recording), Prototyping (Balsamiq, Axure, OmniGraffle), Design tools (Adobe Creative Suite)

Responsibilities

  • Assists with UX Strategy by providing understanding of vision and business strategy alignment to ensure stakeholders understand the user and desired experience
  • Performs appropriate research methods including usability testing, audience/task analysis, personas, heuristic evaluation, cognitive walkthroughs, field observations, interviews, card sorting, focus groups; analyzes results
  • Assists with defining patterns, navigation, structure, and hierarchy by creating user stories/scenarios, process flows, mind maps, affinity diagrams, journey maps, ecosystem diagrams
  • Assists with designing user experience through design sessions, evaluations, brainstorming, low/high fidelity wireframes, prototypes, simulations, storyboards, visual design, user design patterns, style guides
  • Ensures design aligns with accessibility guidelines for compliance
  • Acts as user advocate to project teams and collaborates with stakeholders in experience development
