Requirements

  • United States Citizenship required
  • Position-appropriate security clearance required (e.g., Active TS/SCI with agency-appropriate polygraph)
  • Bachelor’s degree in cognitive and/or experimental psychology, human factors engineering, or an engineering-related field (e.g., systems engineering, software engineering, business process engineering); advanced degree desired
  • At least ten (10) years of experience in a related field, with familiarity with task analysis, user interface design, and usability testing
  • At least five (5) years of user-experience design and testing experience
  • Professional certifications such as Certified Human Factors Specialist (CHFS) desired

Responsibilities

  • Direct and conduct usability testing and work closely with product designers and process engineers developing applications
  • Design and develop user surveys to obtain user feedback
  • Use task experience in each of the usability and software engineering cycle phases (analysis, design, implementation, and deployment)
  • Work closely with users (analysts) to research and document user profiles, analysis tasks, workflows, and user scenarios in order to create user interface design from specifications provided
  • Research and document user workflows
  • Design and create mockups
  • Engage with users
  • Interact with development teams using tools like Axure and Adobe Creative Cloud Suite
