Position-appropriate security clearance required (e.g., Active TS/SCI with agency-appropriate polygraph)
Bachelor’s degree in cognitive and/or experimental psychology, human factors engineering, or an engineering-related field (e.g., systems engineering, software engineering, business process engineering); advanced degree desired
At least ten (10) years of experience in a related field, with familiarity with task analysis, user interface design, and usability testing
At least five (5) years of user-experience design and testing experience
Professional certifications such as Certified Human Factors Specialist (CHFS) desired

Responsibilities

Direct and conduct usability testing and work closely with product designers and process engineers developing applications
Design and develop user surveys to obtain user feedback
Use task experience in each of the usability and software engineering cycle phases (analysis, design, implementation, and deployment)
Work closely with users (analysts) to research and document user profiles, analysis tasks, workflows, and user scenarios in order to create user interface design from specifications provided
Research and document user workflows
Design and create mockups
Engage with users
Interact with development teams using tools like Axure and Adobe Creative Cloud Suite
