Requirements
- Meets state requirements to work as a Pharmacy Technician, such as minimum age, qualification, registration, certification, and/or licensure when required by the State Board of Pharmacy
- Holds an active/valid national certification certificate issued by PTCB (PTCE) or NHA (ExCPT)
- Availability for rotating shifts in Frederick, MD: 1st shift (6am-6pm), 2nd shift (4pm-4am), or 3rd shift (9pm-9am); full-time (4 days/week, 10-hour shifts, available all week except Saturdays); part-time (at least 3 days/week, 10-hour shifts, specify available days)
Responsibilities
- Maintains and tracks medication inventory by sorting, placing, and storing freight in appropriate locations; restocking and replenishing medication; reporting low stock levels; ensuring stock rotation on a first-in-first-out basis; performing inventory cycle counts; assisting with physical counts; creating reports using inventory systems; and monitoring for expired pharmaceuticals
- Supports facility with reporting and paperwork by entering and modifying pharmaceutical data; processing and submitting paperwork; creating and maintaining documentation (e.g., files, manuals, forms, records); identifying and resolving discrepancies; preparing reports of pharmacy activities and inventory (e.g., state board mandated testing); and informing management about incorrect or inefficient processes
- Promotes and maintains pharmacy professional reputation and delivers products/services in accordance with laws and policies by assisting the pharmacist in prescription fulfillment; stocking and rotating merchandise/supplies; handling claims and returns; completing, maintaining, and securing paperwork/documentation; and maintaining a safe and clean work environment
- Ensures fulfillment of pharmacy prescriptions under pharmacist supervision in an automated central fill pharmacy to meet production and quality goals by using scanner to identify/select product and quantity; verifying size/strength; entering expiration date/lot numbers; labeling prescriptions; weighing medication for accuracy; and counting or pouring medication
