Requirements

Strong background in data analysis, risk assessment, and developing/implementing fraud prevention strategies
5+ years of experience in risk evaluation, financial fraud detection/investigation, compliance operations, or similar
Experience in high-paced startup environments, handling financial fraud and risk issues of varying sensitivity and complexity
Comfortable handling deep fraud and risk issues and working directly with internal and external stakeholders
Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to comprehend and communicate complex technical issues
Proven experience in scaling operations and building strong cross-functional relationships to drive performance improvements
Comfortable with building/scaling policy enforcement, tooling, and operations (technical or data skills a plus)

High energy, adept at frequent context switching, working on multiple projects, and taking expansive ownership
Comfortable handling sensitive content (confidential, sexual, violent, or disturbing)

Responsibilities

Work directly with customers to resolve complex fraud, account integrity, and compliance issues, collaborating with account teams as needed
Investigate accounts to identify and action fraudulent activity, account takeovers, and other fraud vectors; identify patterns, root causes, and vulnerabilities
Partner with Product, Engineering, Legal, Operations, and Vendor teams to develop, implement, and scale processes, tooling, and automation balancing safety, fraud loss, and customer experience
Perform risk evaluations and investigations using documentation, internal data, and 3rd party data to identify new trends and attack vectors
Serve as incident manager for high complexity cases, coordinating between product, compliance, legal, ops, and customer-facing teams
Represent and advocate for customer needs with product development, policy, legal, design, and engineering teams
Equip other teams with training, playbooks, workflows, and deep technical understanding of fraud/risk systems and user needs
