Requirements

The ideal candidate will have 1-5 years of experience in Trust & Safety, investigations, compliance, or a related field. Strong organizational and triage skills are essential, along with excellent communication and report writing abilities. Experience handling sensitive and confidential information is required, as is the ability to remain composed when reviewing sensitive subject matter. Familiarity with office productivity tools such as Microsoft Office and/or Google Workspace is necessary, and the candidate must be able to pass a thorough background and credit check. Bonus qualifications include experience responding to legal inquiries or working with law enforcement, familiarity with global privacy frameworks and data protection principles, knowledge of Linux OS, and experience with ticketing systems like Jira or ServiceNow. Eligibility or ability to obtain a security clearance is also a plus.

Responsibilities

The Trust & Safety Investigator will respond promptly to legal inquiries, including preservation requests, subpoenas, search warrants, and court orders. They will conduct investigations into potential Terms of Service and policy violations, such as copyright and trademark infringements, spam, phishing, malware, fraud, exploitation, harmful content, and national security matters. The investigator will collaborate with internal teams like Engineering and Storage to ensure proper handling of requests and investigations, and prepare clear, accurate reports for internal and external stakeholders. This role also involves handling sensitive data and subject matter with discretion and professionalism, and supporting the continuous improvement of investigation processes and tools.
