We are seeking a skilled Multilingual Project Manager to oversee and optimize translations across our extensive 35+ language hospitality platform. This role is pivotal, focusing on people, process, and the quality of translations. You will collaborate with language experts, leverage your deep understanding of web internationalization (i18n), manage translation files, and define tasks for developers.
You will inherit a system with existing translation gaps and are expected to establish a streamlined operation within six months. This will involve integrating expertise from your network of language professionals and implementing efficient processes for rapid translation updates as new features are released. Your goal is to ensure a seamless and culturally appropriate user experience, eliminating issues like backward reading text, UI-breaking words, or unnatural phrasing. You understand that effective localization is invisible, making users feel at home.
You will partner closely with developers and designers, providing crucial insights on text formatting, Right-to-Left (RTL) languages, and line-breaking words. Most importantly, you will work with native speakers to ensure linguistic accuracy and natural phrasing.
