  • Brief Description: Drives the sales effort for Abbott Diagnostics laboratory solutions related professional services, generating new business by developing and closing key customer accounts. Supports the commercial team to maximize core diagnostic business by driving and supporting workflow consulting, laboratory automation, and informatics systems. Provides expert knowledge in these subject matters and internal training programs.

Requirements

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree level or equivalent, ideally in a science-based or economics/business studies related discipline and/or equivalent experience.
  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years track record in the diagnostic industry with demonstrated success.
  • Skills:
    • Fully conversant in consultative selling techniques and methodologies.
    • Ability to work/influence across multiple Abbott divisions (ADD/AMD/APOC).
    • Collaborative enterprise thinking; willing to adapt to and drive organizational change.
    • Thought leadership; ability to develop and maintain strong customer relationships.
    • Ability to develop and champion new ideas.

Responsibilities

  • Sales & Business Development:
    • Drives the sales effort for Abbott Diagnostics laboratory solutions related professional services.
    • Generates new business by developing and closing key customer accounts.
    • Supports the commercial team to maximize core diagnostic business.
    • Focuses on workflow consulting, laboratory automation, and informatics systems.
  • Customer Management:
    • Works with the country commercial team to plan, prioritize sales activities and customer contact.
    • Maintains and develops existing customer relationships through workflow consulting and ethical sales methods.
    • Manages product/service mix, pricing, and margins according to agreed aims.
    • Responds to and follows up on customer/sales team inquiries.
  • Technical & Strategic Support:
    • Provides technical information and responses for the tender and contract team.
    • Completes tender documentation (where appropriate).
    • Supports marketing activities and integrates sales efforts (e.g., product launches, promotions).
    • Monitors and reports on market and competitor activities.
    • Provides value gap reports and information to area marketing.
  • Collaboration & Training:
    • Liaises with implementation workflow consulting to ensure customer expectations and value propositions are delivered and recognized.
    • Achieves consistent high levels of customer satisfaction.
