Requirements

  • Ability to lead collaboration among an interdisciplinary team to develop, coordinate, and facilitate direct social services interventions
  • Proficiency in empirically supported therapeutic techniques, such as CBT, DBT, or family therapy
  • Capability to create a safe and supportive environment for patients to gain insight into thoughts, feelings, and behaviors
  • Availability for full-time schedule: M-F, no weekends
  • Adherence to ethical codes of conduct, confidentiality, and professional manner
  • Compliance with Joint Commission, State, and other regulatory agency regulations
  • Understanding of laws and system policies for reporting suspected physical, sexual abuse, and/or neglect
  • Strong interdisciplinary collaboration, assertive and accurate communication, and receptiveness to feedback
  • Flexibility to support changes in staffing/scheduling and participate in clinical initiatives
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development and continuing education

Responsibilities

  • Conduct individual, group, and family therapy sessions to address patients' specific needs and goals
  • Assess patients' needs through comprehensive assessments to identify mental health concerns, strengths, and challenges
  • Develop individualized treatment plans based on patients' needs and goals; facilitate treatment team meetings and guide clinical interventions
  • Provide counseling and support using evidence-based techniques to manage symptoms and improve well-being, including in-the-moment milieu support
  • Educate patients on mental health/substance use conditions, self-care strategies, treatment options, costs/benefits of engagement, and aftercare plans
  • Document patient progress, therapy sessions, goals, and interventions within required timeframes
  • Collaborate with internal and external professionals (e.g., psychiatrists, social workers, case managers) to coordinate care
  • Report and document suspected cases of physical, sexual abuse, and/or neglect per state law and system policy
  • Participate in ongoing professional development and stay updated on mental health research and best practices
  • Ensure patient safety, facility safety, and support system-wide continuous improvement initiatives
  • Perform other duties as assigned, including maintaining knowledge of department processes and protocols
