We are seeking a skilled and dynamic part-time SEO-focused Test Prep Writer to join our team as a contractor. The ideal candidate will be a creative and strategic thinker who thrives in developing engaging, data-driven content focused on education-related topics for a U.S.-based audience. This role involves conducting thorough research on assigned topics, editing published articles, as well as outlining/writing new articles. The successful candidate must demonstrate strong project management skills with the ability to handle multiple content writing assignments simultaneously while meeting deadlines. This is an online, remote contract role. All work is paid hourly.

Project Description

  • Research and write about education-related topics for a US-based audience.
  • Seamlessly incorporate marketing claims and product descriptions into copy.
  • Create outlines for articles based on research and/or a content brief.
  • Incorporate keywords while maintaining high readability.
  • Evaluate competitors and ensure content can beat them in the rankings.
  • Write unique copy in every article.

Requirements

  • Minimum Experience: 3-5 years of writing SEO content.
  • Attention to Detail: Strong focus on accuracy, grammar, and consistency.
  • Research & Publishing: Demonstrated success in researching and publishing content.
  • SEO Optimization: Experience optimizing content for both user experience and search engine performance (on-page SEO).
  • CMS Familiarity: Familiarity with content management systems (e.g., WordPress, Contentful, etc.).
  • Independent Work: Ability to work independently, manage deadlines, and prioritize tasks across multiple assignments.

Additional Preferred Skills

  • Prior work experience in a remote setting.
  • Familiarity with supportive tools like Ahrefs, SEMrush, Canva.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct thorough research on assigned topics.
  • Edit published articles.
  • Outline and write new articles.
  • Incorporate keywords effectively.
  • Analyze competitor content and develop strategies to outperform them.
  • Maintain high readability and engaging content.
