Candidates should possess a Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field, with a Master's in Tax or JD/LLM preferred and a CPA designation being advantageous. A minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in U.S. federal, state, and international income tax, encompassing both public accounting and in-house corporate roles, is required. Strong technical expertise in ASC 740, U.S. international tax provisions, and compliance is essential, along with proven experience managing tax provision processes for multinational corporations. Experience in fast-paced environments, preferably within eCommerce, SaaS, or digital retail, is highly valued, as are excellent leadership, communication, and project management skills. Familiarity with ERP systems like NetSuite or Oracle and tax compliance tools such as OneSource or CorpTax is expected, with exposure to OECD Pillar Two or BEPS 2.0 implementation being a plus.
The Temporary Tax Senior Manager will lead the direct tax and tax provision functions, overseeing domestic and international income tax compliance and ASC 740 tax accounting, with a focus on technology and marketplace tax complexities. Key duties include leading quarterly and annual ASC 740 income tax provision processes, managing deferred taxes, valuation allowances, and uncertain tax positions across U.S. and international entities. The role involves ensuring SOX-compliant internal controls, interfacing with external auditors, and partnering with global finance teams and local advisors for timely filing of U.S. federal, state, local, and international income tax returns, including international information reporting. Responsibilities also include maintaining documentation for transfer pricing and foreign tax credit positions, monitoring global tax reform developments, identifying strategic tax planning opportunities, supporting M&A due diligence and integration, evaluating the tax impact of digital marketplace operations, and collaborating with cross-functional teams. Additionally, the role requires close work with the indirect tax team on nexus studies and marketplace facilitator rules, and support for transfer pricing policies and intercompany charges.
