Responsibilities

Examines patient chart information regularly to assess patient condition, identifying and reporting any changes in patient status to primary nurse and/or other appropriate care team members
Uses virtual conference tools to assess patient/family/caregiver’s emotional response to illness, including expressed needs and coping mechanisms
Incorporates virtual communication to support the patient and family's needs
Determines the predictable health status and health needs of patients through interpretation of health data and preventive practice in a virtual setting
Supports care for intensive care unit (ICU) patients across all Virtua Hospitals
Utilizes remote technology to support the efforts of the primary nurse at the bedside and other on-site staff to provide individualized, comprehensive, and compassionate care for patients using established nursing models
