Requirements

  • Post-secondary education equivalent to one year of study at a technical college or equivalent (asset)
  • 2 to 3 years of related technical experience
  • Working knowledge of power generation and welding equipment, applications, and welding equipment (asset)
  • Valid driver's license
  • Attention to detail and strong organizational skills (preferred)
  • Ability to multitask and work independently with little supervision (preferred)
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced team environment (preferred)
  • Ability to make critical decisions while adhering to company procedures (preferred)
  • Ability to proactively address or find solutions to work-related issues (preferred)

Responsibilities

  • Ensure a safe working environment by complying with Airgas/Red-D-Arc health and safety guidelines
  • Repair and refurbish all electric drives and motors
  • Assemble electric, diesel, gas, and propane equipment for rental
  • Test and calibrate machines to ensure they are functional for rental or sale
  • Repaint parts, touch up paint, and apply decals to welders to maintain overall appearance
  • Replace defective parts and perform necessary preventive maintenance
  • Order parts needed to perform repairs
  • Inspect returned equipment to ensure that it is functioning properly and/or has not been damaged by the customer
  • Use a forklift, pallet jack, or other necessary equipment to store the required parts in the workshop
  • Ensure that the work environment is always clean and organized
  • Prepare and complete documentation for all machine repairs
  • Occasionally provide after-sales service for equipment and customers off-site
  • Maintain communication with all branch staff
  • Occasionally advise customers on the equipment best suited to their projects
