Requirements

  • Experience with maintaining extrusion or molding tooling
  • Proficient computer experience

Responsibilities

  • Perform routine cleaning and visual inspection of extrusion dies and components according to company procedures
  • Disassemble and reassemble extrusion tooling
  • Conduct preventive maintenance and minor repairs on extrusion tooling (e.g., polish dies, melt pumps, cross heads)
  • Identify wear, damage, or defects in tooling and report to Engineering; recommend replacements or enhancements
  • Maintain tooling inventory system, including labeling and tracking
  • Collaborate with production supervisors and toolmakers to resolve tooling-related issues and support continuous improvement
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment; follow all safety protocols
  • Record maintenance activities and tooling condition in logs or CMMS systems
  • Order production tooling and supply items
  • Contact outside resources when necessary (e.g., manufacturing engineer, quality engineer, or other equipment support services)
  • Establish effective working relationships with operators, group lead, and department support
  • Read and understand tooling prints, part prints, processes, and documentation
  • Fill out documentation correctly
  • Effectively use quality equipment such as gauges, tooling scope, micrometer, ruler, etc
