Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in legal process, business administration, insurance, or a related field desirable
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in workers' compensation, preferably in a self-insured environment. Management experience is a plus

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the processing and management of workers' compensation claims in accordance with the law and the principles of administrative justice and sound and proper decision making
  • Utilise analytical skills and industry knowledge to make sound and proper liability decisions and manage the appeals process
  • Ensure compliance with state and federal regulations
  • Analyse claims data and trends to identify areas for improvement
  • Prepare reports for management on key metrics
  • Develop and implement procedures related to evidence gathering, assessment and decision making, promoting best practices in claims handling
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for internal and external stakeholders on technical matters relating to claims
  • Provide training and guidance to staff on workers' compensation processes, regulations, and practices
