Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Computer Science or related engineering field with 8+ years of experience as a Software Product Owner or Business Analyst in regulated in vitro diagnostics or medical device environments
  • 5+ years of hands-on experience with SDLC methodologies and Agile frameworks, including backlog management using JIRA and documentation in Confluence
  • Demonstrated application of Agile principles in cross-functional software development teams within FDA, ISO 13485, or IVDR-compliant environments
  • Proven ability to manage product requirements and traceability in compliance with IEC 62304 or equivalent software lifecycle standards
  • Availability to support global stakeholders across time zones, including participation in virtual meetings outside standard business hours

Responsibilities

  • Define and document technical user epics and stories with acceptance criteria using Agile methodologies and tools such as JIRA and Confluence
  • Prioritize and manage product backlog items including stories, epics, and themes to align with strategic goals and optimize delivery velocity across scrum teams
  • Lead sprint execution and release planning activities, including sprint demos and impediment mitigation, to ensure timely delivery of features within scope, cost, and quality constraints
  • Conduct competitive analysis and market research to inform product roadmap decisions, leveraging industry data sources and analytics platforms
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including QA, documentation, training, deployment, and support to coordinate product release cycles and ensure readiness across all operational domains
  • Deliver multi-team projects by translating product strategy, understanding business requirements, and collaborating with multiple functional groups and stakeholders (Software, Hardware, Assay, Operations, and cross-functional partners)
  • Partner with Cepheid IDC and Cepheid Sunnyvale teams to build product subject matter expertise at Cepheid
