Candidates must have 4+ years of experience as a software engineer, including involvement in the hiring process. Excellent written and verbal communication skills are essential, along with experience leading technical interviews, particularly in data structures and algorithms. Proficiency in at least one common programming language (Python, Java, C++, JavaScript) and strong time management skills are required. Experience with general career coaching or mentoring early-career software developers, especially from underrepresented communities, is highly desirable. Familiarity with various technical interview formats like coding assessments, whiteboard interviews, and system design is also preferred.
The Technical Interview Coach will conduct 1:1 mock technical interviews for students and alumni, co-present and lead technical interview preparation workshops, and improve technical interview preparation resources. They will also develop tailored content for technical interview preparation and deliver it virtually as part of the Career Labs series. The coach is expected to continuously improve career coaching resources and student experiences by sharing knowledge and staying adaptable. They will also communicate promptly via Slack and email, keeping the team updated on availability and progress, and maintain clarity and consistency in managing their calendar, time, and tasks.
