Candidates should have at least four years of experience in course development, curriculum design, training, or e-learning, preferably in technical education. Expertise is required in training development for various delivery methodologies including instructor-led training, web-based training, job aids, virtual classroom training, and blended learning. Experience delivering technical training topics is essential, along with proficiency in Articulate, Vyond, Camtasia, Adobe Photoshop, and Microsoft Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook). A work portfolio demonstrating understanding of ADDIE and SAM course development models is necessary, as is experience creating training promotional materials and communications plans using graphic art software. Exceptional communication skills for working with global audiences and all levels of management are also required. A Bachelor's degree or Certification in Instructional Design with an emphasis on Instructional Design Technology and experience in the automotive industry are preferred.
The Technical Instructional System Designer will drive training development, planning, execution, delivery, tracking, and reporting within GM's Human Resources group. They will develop training strategy, analyze data to identify improvements, and ensure the successful implementation of learning solutions. Responsibilities include designing and developing training materials using various media such as VILT, WBT, ILT, self-paced, podcasting, and job aids. They will also gather and analyze end-user training requirements, create and edit instructor materials like course outlines and technical manuals, and write promotional materials. Evaluating learning outcomes, collaborating with subject matter experts for content gathering, and scheduling/facilitating curriculum delivery are also key duties.
