About This Opportunity

The Translator is responsible for translating and localizing technical software documentation, as well as the user interface of the Docebo learning platform, into Spanish, French, Italian, and/or German. This role involves ensuring the accuracy and appropriateness of translations, keeping content up-to-date with English updates, and working closely with internal teams to ensure consistency and quality. The Translator will manage content across various types, including manuals, release notes, video content, and UI elements, while maintaining high standards for translation, including glossaries and style guides.

Responsibilities

  • Translate technical documentation and platform user interface content from English into Italian and German, ensuring high-quality, accurate translations.
  • Localize content for the Italian and German markets, including user manuals, Knowledge Base articles, release notes, product updates, and UI elements (language keys).
  • Keep translated content up-to-date by tracking English-language changes and promptly incorporating them into the Italian and German versions.
  • Manage and maintain Knowledge Base documentation in Italian and German, ensuring it aligns with product updates.
  • Maintain and update the internal language keys repository, ensuring translations are consistent and accurate across the platform.
  • Collaborate with Marketing and Customer Education teams to provide localized content that meets the needs of Italian and German-speaking customers.
  • Perform language checks on existing translations, ensuring proper language usage and consistency in the language keys.
  • Work independently and collaboratively with other team members, ensuring the timely delivery of high-quality translations.
  • Adhere to translation techniques and principles, including using glossaries and style guides to maintain consistency and quality.
  • Handle multiple tasks and projects simultaneously, maintaining accuracy and attention to detail in a fast-paced environment.

Requirements

  • Experience: 2+ years of relevant translation experience, preferably in software documentation and User Interface localization.
  • Languages: Native level of Italian, full professional proficiency in English and German.
  • Tools: Experience with CMS packages, such as Zendesk, and translation software like Lokalise.
  • Localization Management: Experience in software localization management, particularly maintaining and managing language keys (labels) and translations used in code.
  • Documentation Translation: Proven experience in translating various forms of software documentation, including conceptual guides, tutorials, and language keys.
  • Translation Principles: Deep knowledge of translation principles, including the use of glossaries and style guides.
  • Editing Skills: Strong self-editing skills, with an eye for identifying and correcting errors in different types of content.
  • Work Environment: Comfortable working in an agile, fast-paced environment, handling multiple tasks.
