Requirements

Graduation from a Surgical Technologist program from an accredited school of allied health services
Three years continuous experience in an operating room preferred
Current Surgical Technologist certification preferred
Current BLS certification preferred

Responsibilities

Assist professional staff in providing care for the operative patient before, during, and after surgery
Ensure proper instrumentation and supplies are available on the surgical field and/or in the operating room
Help the sterile operative team by performing scrub and circulating duties in the operating room
Perform routine and specialized housekeeping activities
Apply principles of asepsis, infection control, and medical ethics
Train newly assigned personnel
Maintain patient safety and confidentiality at all times
Assume responsibility, under the direction of the Laboratory, for patient specimen testing, quality control, quality improvement, and equipment maintenance
