Requirements

  • Expertise in problem-solving and root cause analysis tools (e.g., 8D/5-Why, Fishbone Diagram, FMEA)
  • Knowledge of technical quality control processes for wiring harnesses (e.g., crimp height, pull force, terminal fit, wire stripping, sealing, over-molding, electrical testing including continuity, shorts, resistance, hipot)
  • Familiarity with Saronic-specific workmanship standards and statistical process control (SPC)
  • Experience with supplier quality assurance, audits, assessments, and standards (e.g., IATF 16949, AS9100, ISO 9001)
  • Ability to manage supplier scorecards and monitor performance metrics (e.g., PPM, OTD, quality escapes, defect rates, on-time delivery)
  • Proficiency in quality documentation, reporting, and presenting to senior management and cross-functional teams
  • Strong cross-functional collaboration skills with procurement, manufacturing, engineering, and logistics
  • Technical knowledge in harness layout, connector selection, and strain relief strategies
  • Training capabilities for internal teams and suppliers on quality requirements
  • Experience with continuous improvement methodologies (e.g., Six Sigma, Lean, Kaizen)
  • Skills in dual-sourcing, risk assessments, and risk mitigation strategies
  • Understanding of industry regulations and compliance requirements

Responsibilities

  • Investigate supplier nonconformances (e.g., mis-crimps, insulation damage, routing errors) and facilitate root cause analysis (8D/5-Why, Fishbone Diagram, FMEA) with suppliers to implement corrective/preventive actions
  • Verify effectiveness of corrective actions through follow-up audits and production part checks
  • Validate supplier processes for crimp height, pull force, terminal fit verification, wire stripping, sealing, over-molding, and harness electrical testing (continuity, shorts, resistance, hipot)
  • Ensure compliance with Saronic-specific workmanship standards and implement SPC on key wiring parameters
  • Develop and implement quality assurance processes and procedures for suppliers, focusing on crimping, soldering, over-molding, and harness assembly standards
  • Qualify and approve wiring harness suppliers through audits, capability assessments, and compliance checks using key metrics; manage supplier scorecards and ongoing performance
  • Address non-conformances identified during audits and take corrective actions as needed
  • Maintain accurate records of supplier quality performance, audits, corrective actions, and improvement initiatives; prepare and present reports on metrics, trends, and improvements
  • Collaborate with internal teams (procurement, manufacturing, engineering, logistics) to address quality concerns, align product design/specifications with supplier capabilities, and provide technical support on harness design elements
  • Train internal teams and suppliers on harness quality requirements and standards
  • Participate in and drive continuous improvement projects to enhance supplier quality, reduce defects, and improve supply chain performance using Six Sigma, Lean, Kaizen
  • Support dual-sourcing and risk assessments for critical harness suppliers
  • Identify supply chain risks related to quality or supplier performance and develop/implement mitigation strategies
  • Ensure compliance with industry regulations, certifications, and internal procedures
